Samsung launches the Galaxy Note9 with 6.4-inch screen

Samsung's new Note has a big screen, big battery and big price. "Okay, so what can I use on my phone?" asks the customer. While we can't offer firm buying advice just yet, here are my initial impressions of the device - and, spoiler alert, it is nothing short of a monster!

Designed so you want to wear it all day. The Note 9 camera can "identify elements of a photo, such as scene and subject", claims the company. The Note 9 is slightly shorter, wider, and heavier than the Note 8. A Pixel 2 XL will still fetch you $450 off, as will an iPhone X. You could pay just $550, 600, $650, etc. for a brand new $1,000 Note 9. Samsung has let on that, as far as functionality goes, the Galaxy Home will be able to do numerous same things Bixby does on smartphones.

All you have to do is pop out the S Pen from its port, hold down its side button, and it will immediately boot up the camera app.

From the S Pen with Bluetooth capabilities to other top features.

One of the most important features on the Note 9 is its S-Pen, which comes with Bluetooth connectivity now.

Double click to switch over to the front camera, and click it once to snap a picture. Both cameras have 12MP sensors and have OIS. Even charges at same time at Note 9 with wireless charger duo. £400. The Huawei P20 Pro is £400 cheaper than the best-value Note 9 deal out there at the moment.

Could we ever see Spotify multi-device integration work on devices from other manufacturers? Instead Samsung shaved off the edges to make it look thinner. "Of course, it will also help artists reach new fans".

The S-Pen can be recharges in the phone, with 30 seconds of charging offering 30 minutes of charge. Gives freedom to break away and stay connected longer.

Unlike old DeX phones, however, plugging the Note 9 into a display doesn't prevent you from using the phone as a phone.

The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset for the USA customers and the models powered by Samsung's very own "Exynos 9 Series 9810" chips will head to the rest of the world, including India. Useful? Absolutely - but not groundbreaking. "It is designed for a level of performance power and intelligence that today's power users need", D.J. Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Samsung Electronics, said at the jam-packed Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York City.

We received the Ocean Blue model, which boasts 128GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM.

Also notable is are the RAM and storage, which now start at 6 GB /128 GB but are upgradable to 8 GB / and 512GB, not to mention another 512GB that could be added with an upcoming MicroSD card. For a phone, that is just insane.

The new phones will come out August 24. It's an evolution of the Galaxy Note 8 but one with some notable upgrades. It's a lot of money for a phone. But that doesn't affect their usability for taking quick notes.
