Apple launches new OS version called 'Mojave' for Mac PCs and laptops

Now, however, things are official.
The new Mac App Store will come with a discovery tab to find new software and a few category tabs - create, play, work, develop - to explore specific categories. The next macOS will be called macOS Mojave.
For starters, after a series of updates named after mountain ranges, Apple has been inspired by the Mojave desert, particularly during the nighttime.
For an advanced experience, the new Mac App Store features a Discover tab that lists in-depth editorials about the best Mac Apps through stories and collections. There has been no word from Unity 3D about Unity supporting ARKit 2, but we expect to hear more about that soon. In addition to API-level protections already in place for photos, contacts and other personal data, Mojave introduces protections for the microphone, camera, mail databases, user backups and message history as well. That is part of an overall internal effort to bring the experience of building apps for macOS and iOS closer together.
The Mac App Store is a ghost town of limited selection and Apple customers have long complained that some Mac apps get short shrift.
If you're not a fan of the new aesthetic, you'll be able toggle between a light and dark mode.
Apple is not slowing down when it comes to AR development, as evidenced by ARKit 2 and all the new features coming with it.
The operating system's App Store will also be updated. The integration will allow developers to make an app, which can be used on both the platforms.
The new Mac App Store is a ideal, modernized marriage between the old Mac App Store and the iOS App Store.
As always, do not install the macOS or iOS betas on your production hardware (i.e., primary computer or iPhone). Finally, the new Categories section lets you easily browse through apps, look up reviews and access top charts.
The new version of macOS brings system-wide dark mode which not only turns the user interface dark but also switches the wallpaper and content of windows. Clicking a stack expands it so you can view its contents.
After Siri, Apple announced some updates to other apps, one of them being Apple News.
With Mojave, you can double-click on a screenshot to automatically enter into Markup. Apple is making easier to take screenshots by adopting the mechanism from iOS. Taking screenshots will also now present users to mark up those pictures.
Continuity Camera is a way to quickly drop photos from your iPhone to your Mac. Four Apple-built iOS apps - Home, Apple News, Stocks, Voice Memos - will now work on Mac computers, the company said. And Apple has started to do this with its own apps.
Mojave expands macOS' selection of native apps to include News, Stocks, Voice Recorder and Home apps.
When will MacOS Mojave be available?
The beta version will be available to developers today and to the public later this month.
