Boston Celtics take 2-0 lead on Philadelphia 76ers: NBA playoffs 2018

Philadelphia came out hot for much of the first half with J.J.
His first-year counterpart, Jayson Tatum, continued to thrive, pouring in 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
The Celtics now lead the series 2-0 as it shifts to Philadelphia. "I want to keep going", said Rozier, who was wearing a Drew Bledsoe Patriots jersey to milk one more chuckle out of his pseudo-feud with vanquished Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe. How we punched them in the first quarter, they punched us back. The way the crowd got behind us before the half.
Game 3 of the East semifinal series is on Saturday in Philadelphia. JJ Redick contributed 20 points, while Ben Simmons added 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Simmons had the worst game of his National Basketball Association career with just one point from a free throw, missing all four field goal attempts and collecting five rebounds, seven assists and five turnovers.
"If I had to do it again, I'd do the same thing", Brown said after the game. That matchup alone played a huge factor in the outcome of the game. "It happens. Obviously, it's not the flawless timing". Thanks to a 52-27 run that began midway through the second quarter, the Celtics finished the third with a 79-75 lead. Sixers coach Brett Brown addressed his decision not to play the 2017 NBA Draft No. 1 overall pick following the playoff loss. Philadelphia shot 43.5 percent from the floor in Game 2 and went 13 of 33 from three point range.
That said, Brown sent a shock through the bench and medical staff when, roughly 35 minutes after checking in, he scooped up a loose ball fumbled away by Dario Saric and drove in for a dunk from mid-court. Al Horford sealed the game with a driving layup of his own with with 8.3 seconds left.
Tatum hit two free throws in the final seconds to seal the win.
Jaylen Brown did not play in the Celtics' 117-107 Game 1 take-down of the Sixers and though he declared he'd be back for Game 2, there is still uncertainty and caution.
"I think, in the light of day, I give the Celtics complete credit to exposing some things". The surprise of the night was the fact that Jaylen Brown was able to play.
Philly held a lead of 22 points in the 2nd quarter but a 20-5 run by Boston to close the 1st half made it a 56-51 game at the half.
The lead grew to 76-68 on a baseline dunk by Tatum that capped a 50-20 Celtics run.
"Once we got on that run we never looked back", Rozier said.
Yet, while Boston is embracing Tatum, Fultz is still looking to make a meaningful postseason impact.
His status prior to the game was up in the air.
"But Tatum has been awesome, it just seems as though when you get a player who can raise the level of their game at playoff time, you've got somebody special".
"They couldn't have been favored the first two games, could they?" "There's not going to be a pity party". Totals 40-92 10-14 103.
Except for missing all four of his 3-point shots, DeRozan turned in a solid all-around game with 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocks in Toronto's Game 1 loss. Totals 37-82 19-24 108.
But with five fouls, Embiid's fangs weren't as sharp.
Maybe not the fadeaway jumpers James kept making, each seemingly with a higher degree of difficulty than the last, but he was sure there would be something.
"I love it", he said. You can often see Hart going wild while rooting for the Sixers from courtside seats. Embiid jumped out to cover him, giving Horford the open lane for the drive and the easy score with 8.3 seconds left, giving Boston a five-point lead.
On the season, the Celtics are averaging 104.0 points, 44.5 rebounds and 22.5 assists per game.
