The LG G7 ThinQ features dual cameras that support 19 shooting modes through its AI CAM feature. The notch can clearly be seen on the smartphone, but luckily there is going to be an option to turn it off easily via the software. On the other hand, LG will be rolling out the smartphone in South Korea in coming days followed by other markets in Europe, Latin America North America and Asia. Verizon will open pre-orders for the phone on May 24, but the release date is still a mystery, though it is possible that it will become available on June 1 as well, as the company's pre-order period will probably last a week as well.
Design wise, the LG G7 is still assembled with glass and metal. And yes, it comes with a notch on display, reminding of Apple iPhone X. While Samsung intends for its phones to help anchor Bixby as Samsung's assistant across all Samsung devices, LG's Google Assistant helps Google fight back. It also meets MIL-STD 810G requirements. The device also comes with AR camera capabilities like AI camera, Bright Mode and QLens that are expected to improve the image capturing capabilities of the device. Theres a 3,000 mAh battery that can be charged with the Quick Charge 4.0 standard. For security, there's a fingerprint sensor mounted at the rear and face recognition.
Alongside, the G7 ThinQ also sports a dedicated Google Assistant button which will allow users to access the assistant. The smartphone comes with a Boombox speaker which delivers double the bass of conventional smartphones for powerful "boombox" sound without the need for external speakers.
Just like the V30 and other previous LG devices, the HiFi Quad DAC is there in the LG G7 ThinQ to provide an impressive audio output via headphones or earphones. It is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. Prior to LG G7, the company had launchedV30S ThinQ smartphone with these AI features at Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this year. The secondary 16 megapixels sensor has f/1.9 aperture and 107-degree super-wide-angle lens.
