Warriors star Curry out for Game 1 against Pelicans in National Basketball Association playoffs

The Warriors 76 first half points was a franchise high which just goes to show how locked in they were from the start. They featured an unconventional starting lineup. Technically underdogs, #new orleans came into the playoffs on a hot streak, winning their last five games. Not one of them have the Pelicans beating the defending champion Golden State Warriors, and that's after everyone picked the Trail Blazers to win in the first round.
Thompson has now had back-to-back 24-plus scoring games. The Warriors would have been regarded as flukes who were only able to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers because Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were injured, LeBron wouldn't have won a championship for the city of Cleveland and Durant and Russell Westbrook would have won a title for Oklahoma City. Draymond Green was especially stellar, notching a triple double with 16 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists, all while guarding Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis.
"Steph is great and a two-time MVP".
"I've been in a few playoff series now to understand that", Green said. "They've already proven that".
As was the case in Round 1, the Warriors' three healthy All-Stars carried the day. Golden State piled on the points on Saturday night as well, and I do not see that changing in this one.
Thompson turned in 41.2 FanDuel points at a salary of $6,400 on Saturday.
These contributions all seemed familiar, but it came in a different context. And the offense outsmarted and outmoved every single player possible, from Ian Clark to Anthony Davis to Mirotic, to everyone on a short Pel's bench. "Make sure everyone was a threat on the floor and we did". While the Warriors controlled and dissected the Spurs in the first round, they never quite captured the invincibility that has defined their peak moments over the past four years. "He's in the prime of his career emotionally too where he's got the ultimate confidence. It's all fun. You've got to enjoy it and embrace it".
The Pelicans can't rebound with the Warriors.
Saturday's game was played at a pace of roughly * a href="http://stats.nba.com/teams/advanced/?sort=OFF_RATING&dir=-1&CF=MIN*GE*15&Season=2017-18&SeasonType=Playoffs&PORound=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" *106 possessions, which is three possessions more than New Orleans' regular-season-leading rate, per * a href="http://stats.nba.com/teams/advanced/?sort=PACE&dir=-1&CF=MIN*GE*15&Season=2017-18&SeasonType=Regular%20Season" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" *NBA.com.
"A big part of this is how he turns up tomorrow after a night's rest", Kerr said. "We don't want to play dumb. Fast is great, but fast and fundamentally sound is the name of the game". That's my job and so I try to take pride in that. The Spurs, Golden State's first-round opponent, ranked 29th at 97.16. Without him producing, the Pelicans' window gets smaller and smaller.
Davis led the Pelicans with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Rajon Rondo dished out 11 assists.
