Avicii dead Wake Me Up DJ dies aged 28

U.S. band Imagine Dragons tweeted: "Working with him was one of my favourite collaborative moments".

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii", his management said in a statement, without specifying the cause of death. His self titled EP, Avicii which was released a year ago featured the song "Lonely Together" featuring Rita Ora which is up over 90 million views on YouTube. Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and David Guetta soon became ubiquitous to our teenage existence.

"Come on babe, don't give up on us. From that point on, I just jumped into 100 percent", Avicii told The Hollywood Reporter in 2016. He had a crossover pop hit in 2013 with "Wake Me Up". "Timeless stuff by an absolute EDM legend!"

Avicii was best known for his singles Wake Me Up, Hey Brother and Levels.

In early 2016, the Grammy-nominated artiste had announced his retirement from touring due to his health.

Celebrities and fellow music trade giants paid tribute to Avicii on social media after the information broke.

In one instance, Avicii - a Swedish superstar who gained global fame with his electronic dance music (EDM) - asked Kenyans to comment on his new collection of songs.

Discussions about what will happen with this music - and whether or not a new Avicii album will be released posthumously - have yet to take place.

He also helped produce Madonna's last album. "I've started being able to listen to music again, getting a little bit of that joy back".

Avicii - real name Tim Bergling - had taken a break from touring after a number of health issues, however, had recently returned to music. "That is what I live for, what I feel born to do", Avicii said in a statement on his website a year ago.

There's where his tragedy lies too, perhaps.

DJ Avicii, who died at the age of 28, suffered from pancreatitis. Most, if not all, died of a drug overdose.

He reassured them that he'll continue making music - in the studio. "What's going on? You said that that was done, '" the legendary Chic star said. "In honor of Avicii, I want you guys to dance and sing along and celebrate the life of a true musical genius", he said.

For me, I pray, Alan Walker lives a long life.
