Once again, it was White, who ran around left end for a 6-yard touchdown to give New England a 14-7 lead.
Since 2001, quarterbacks making their first or second career playoff start are 0-7 against New England. Let's examine three important matchups in today's game that Tennessee must win to compete against the defending Super Bowl Champions. James White scored two touchdowns.
- Jimmy Golen reporting from Foxborough, Massachusetts. Although it initially appeared the Patriots would be called for a false start, the Titans were called for a neutral zone infraction. Not only did Lewis have 62 yards on the ground, but he also added 79 yards on nine receptions.
Quote of the week: "At this point, I'm all-in on Tennessee". The Patriots went into the locker room at half with all of the momentum on their side. Join the With the First Pick team! He was an All-Pro as a rookie in 2016. And like the 2018 postseason, they are often the No. 1 seed.
Romo says out loud what's likely going through Tom Brady's head in the moment (and what likely was going through Romo's head in similar situations when he was with the Cowboys).
Nick Foles was steady, Jake Elliott had a big leg and the defense made one final stop. Mariota finished 22 of 37 for 254 yards and two touchdowns with 37 rushing yards.
Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantries for the evening stopped as they ended the first quarter with that lead.
The Patriots shipped Brissett (remember him?), the third string quarterback in training camp to the Indianapolis Colts for receiver Phillip Dorsett in early September.
Gilmore had a clutch third-down breakup on the sideline against Corey Davis in the second quarter when the game was tied 7-7, allowing the offense to get the ball back and continue the scoring run that iced the game. However, Decker was called on a questionable penalty for offensive pass interference.
Atlanta had given themselves a lifeline when Matt Ryan found Julio Jones with less than four minutes to play.
In only his second National Football League season, Wentz, 25, passed for 33 TDs and 3,296 yards with only seven interceptions in 13 games while serving as the leading man in the surprising Eagles run to the best record in the NFC.
New England knows how to take advantage of turnovers and could make this a blow out if the Titans can't protect the ball.
Will the New England Patriots cover the point spread as a double-digit home favorite tonight when they host the Tennessee Titans at 8:15 p.m. ET? They'll host the Saints-Vikings victor next Sunday. By the end of the day, the Pats won the game 35-14 and secured themselves a spot in next week's AFC Championship.
