The phrase "iPhone X" became the top trending term on Twitter this morning, as fans shared the elation of managing to pre-order a phone as well as their frustration about not managing to get there in time.

Given reported production bottlenecks, iPhone X delivery times will be four to six weeks by 8am NY time and should remain largely unchanged in the following days, said Gene Munster, a veteran Apple analyst and co-founder of VC firm Loup Ventures.

Preorders for Apple's newest smartphone began at 12:01 a.m. PT Friday.

The iPhone X was announced a month ago during Apple's September event alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

IPhone lovers reluctant to deal with a delivery delay could take a chance on getting the top-end model by walking into an Apple Store and buying direct on Friday, Nov. 3.

"It is also a sign that Apple is confident to improve the production capacity for iPhone X over time", he added. The phone is set to be released November 3. Well, the iPhone X pre-orders went live at around 3 a.m.

Apple's relying on the new iPhones to give it a boost. Junior accounting major Alyssa Scott recognizes the features of the iPhone X are impressive but does not feel they are worth the cost.

The iPhone X is the most expensive phone on the market, starting at $999 for the 64-gigabit version.

Past year marked the slowest growth rate for the phone industry since it began, and Apple's iPhone sales dropped for four straight quarters.

He sees one of the top-selling features of the phone as the size. The Silver model will be available on launch day.

Besides the attractive design and Face ID, the only reason Apple is charging you more for the iPhone X is that talking poop emoji.

That makes sense since it's Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone, after all.

Apple's iPhone 8 Plus is generally nearly the same as the X. It comes with a 7MP TrueDepth front facing camera with support for portrait mode as well.

Apple's iPhone upgrade program offers monthly billing options: $49.91 a month for the 64 GB and $56.16 a month for 256 GB, including AppleCare insurance.

Apple Stores and other retailers should have stock on hand, but there's no telling how much stock each store will have.

For the first time ever, India is among the first wave of countries to get a new iPhone.
