On the other hand, they might take UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, Kentucky freshman point guard De'Aaron Fox or Josh Jackson.

Well, Fultz will still be drafted No. 1 overall.

And this year's snag of No. 1 in a trade with Boston made them just the fourth team in National Basketball Association history to pick first in two straight drafts.

As it stands at the moment, the 76ers own the No. 1, 36, 39, 46 and 50 overall picks in the 2017 NBA Draft. "I think there's an inner drive there and it's something that makes him special".

"I think it definitely doesn't help", Ball said of his father's notoriety.

Croatian forward Saric was asked on Twitter about the young group melding into a championship team and replied, "It will be hard but I hope with young team we got big chance to be dominant".

Tatum and the Celtics seem to have more familiarity, with the 6-foot-8 swingman believing he'd be a good fit on the roster of the team that had the best record in the Eastern Conference.

"When I heard my name called.it was like God calling me", Fultz said after being selected.

"That is something that has to be factored in with respect to your though process and planning", Colangelo said. "That's what we talked about".

"It would be great", Fultz told reporters during his pre-draft workout with the Sixers on Saturday.

LaVar Ball then declared Lonzo would take the Lakers to the playoffs as a rookie.

There were other notable trades earlier in the week before the draft began, including Atlanta sending Dwight Howard to Charlotte and the Lakers clearing cap room by shipping D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov to Brooklyn.

Colangelo wants to see what this core group can do, how much they grow together, but he is leaving his options open. "They said they love my dad and left it at that".

NEW YORK (AP) - Markelle Fultz is ready for the National Basketball Association draft.

"Michael Jordan is the GOAT", Monk said. "We felt the value of adding the one pick now was the right thing at the expense of only losing one of four going forward". Thursday was one of those nights. Of the 20 players expected to be in the green room, 13 were college one-and-dones.

It's go time. The days leading up to the National Basketball Association draft have been as dramatic and exciting as any point of the National Basketball Association season, including the trade deadline, the regular season and the first three rounds of the playoffs.

Never before had five freshmen been selected with the first five picks.

Another worldwide player was tabbed next as the New York Knicks selected French guard Frank Ntilikina, a talented 18-year-old who has defensive skills to match a solid offensive game. "They all got different types of games", Fultz said.

The incongruity of the school's first-ever No. 1 pick playing for one of the worst teams in program history is surely not lost on UW supporters.
