Bahrain on Thursday followed the UAE in announcing that expressing sympathy for Qatar over the sanctions was an offence punishable by jail. Up to 40 percent of Qatar's approximately $1 billion in food exports a year were trucked to Qatar from Saudi Arabia until this week's eruption of the crisis.
