LeBron James overtakes Michael Jordan as Cavaliers reach National Basketball Association finals again

James says Jordan chase is about motivation, not greatness

"Am I the reason that Brooklyn gave all their picks to Boston?".

And for good reason.

There might be no one on the Boston Celtics that should be more nervous than Isaiah Thomas.

The outcome creates a third straight finals matchup between the Cavs and Golden State Warriors.

Maybe, but as the teams gear up for Thursday night's series opener in Oakland, comments made by Warriors forward Draymond Green in October are reverberating around Cleveland.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are coming into the NBA Finals with a ton of momentum as they've yet to lose a game in these playoffs, winning 10 of their 12 games by double digits. "The great thing about this is the experience (is) we were able to go to the Eastern Conference finals, learn a lot about being in this position, and I feel like it's going to help us for next year".

From trying to emulate Jordan's fadeaway jump shot to copying his uniform quirks, James said, "I did pretty much everything MJ did when I was a kid". "So I didn't ever believe I could be Mike". I respect all my teammates, and I really appreciated playing with all the guys I had a chance to play with this year.

"I didn't go bald like Mike, but I'm getting there", he quipped. "(Chasing his ghost) is just my personal goal to keep me motivated", James said. "As of tonight, I'll get started", he promised.

Lue said that tape of last season's Finals is applicable now, even though Durant wasn't on the court. Every night was hard.

But the Warriors are beating teams in the playoffs by 16.3 points, the highest margin in playoff history. We've got to come out and play.

The Cavaliers are 12-1 in the playoffs as they seek their second straight championship.

The 5-foot-8 point guard said he wants to play until he's 40, and he'd like to do it in Boston. I appreciated everybody's accountability. But then when you look at a situation, most people have never reached greatness. I think we will use it as fuel.

"I don't care who you're playing, to make it to the NBA Finals, to win your conference finals, it's a big task", Brown said. It's not about wanting to establish himself as the NBA's greatest player. He averaged a double-double during the regular season for the first time in a Cavaliers uniform this past year. Can James win his fourth ring?

Durant's only other time in the Finals was in 2012 when he was with Oklahoma City, but the Thunder lost to the Miami Heat in a series that made James a champion for the first time.

In a rush to get the holiday weekend rolling?

Detroit became the league's third repeat victor in the championship game the following season when Layne threw a 33-yard TD pass to Jim Doran with just over 2 minutes remaining for a 17-16 victory.
