Including a third-period comeback the Capitals authored in Game 5, they scored eight unanswered goals in the series in a span of 69 minutes and 40 seconds.

The proof is hanging in the closet in Bruce Peters' home in Waldorf, Maryland, about 30 miles away from where the Presidents' Trophy winners lost Game 7 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night with a spot in the Eastern Conference finals at stake.

"We're having fun now", Coach Barry Trotz said. We took a deep breath and we kind of regrouped ourselves and said, 'Let's go after it in Game 5.' And it took until the third period of Game 5 to get going and get rewarded for it.

The sum totals for the six players on those two lines after Burakovsky scored twice and Oshie added his first of the series Monday night: seven goals. Defensively, the Washington Capitals are allowing 2.2 goals per game and are killing 83.8 percent of their opponents power plays.

The statement is startling to anyone with even a passing knowledge of concussions, which can arise from any impact and get easier to acquire the more frequent they occur - particularly troubling with Crosby, who's had a career marred by concussion after concussion.

"We have learned some lessons", he said.

A NUMBER: 124-42 - the record of teams scoring first in Game 7 in National Hockey League history.

This will be the fourth time they will meet in a Game 7. While he was with the Rangers, three of Hagelin's Game 7 wins came against the Capitals.

Ted then tells another one of his pixelites, "We need to put those doses in those 18,000 pill boxes with the Capitals logo we've been saving for worst-case scenario". So he can't do that this whole series. Penguins' coach Mike Sullivan said in his post-game comments that Crosby in fact, did not go through the concussion protocol after the first period.

"I'm not sure if I believe in momentum from game to game", Niskanen said. "He's made save after save for us". That they're not burdened by the weight of the team's history of playoff flameouts, one most of the guys in red, white and blue had nothing to do with. "I think our room is real strong".

The taste of the 2009 Game 7 at home against the Penguins is still lingering in the throats of Capitals fans. Similarly, Kuznetsov has tallied two goals and three assists in three wins this series and only two goals in three losses.

"We have to play all together like a team and we did (Saturday)". After winning two games and reaching Game 7 at Verizon Center, however, now there is something to lose. "Now we have to focus on the second game, not think about the Game 7". He lamented some struggles for his line, but expressed no concerns about his health. The Penguins forward leads all scorers with 18 points and when Crosby went down with an injury in Game 3 nearly singlehandedly carried the Penguins to victory. "There were some chances there". We chalk it up as a missed opportunity. "I think there is still another level for us".

The Capitals winger has earned the nickname with seven goals and seven assists in the seven Game 7s he has played in his 16-year National Hockey League career.

RANGERS-SENATORS: The Rangers have had a tough time closing out against the Senators in Ottawa, a challenge they're eager to take on again. "If you're looking for a test when you're coming back that's a good one". It had been.889 heading into Game 5.

THE NEDVED GAME: While Washington's 1996 first-round series against Pittsburgh lasted just six games, in many ways it's symbolic of the club's inability to close. Next, the Anaheim Ducks will host the Edmonton Oilers at 10:00pm EST in the final game of their series.
