Spurs overcome Leonard injury, Harden to beat Rockets in OT

HOUSTON TX- MAY 07 James Harden #13 of the Houston Rockets shoots against La Marcus Aldridge #12 of the San Antonio Spurs during Game Three of the NBA Western Conference Semi Finals at Toyota Center

That's when Danny Green and the Spurs' supporting cast stepped up. NenĂª Hilario is out for the season. It seems only fitting that this series will be decided in a Game 7 with Houston having one of their offensive outbursts in a Game 6 victory.

The main concern for the Spurs, however, is the extent of Leonard's injury. San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich hopes he will not have to find out.

Green said on his Dray Day podcast he doesn't respect former Gonzaga player Olynyk and thinks the Celtics' 7-footer is a dirty player.

So far in the series against the Rockets, Leonard is averaging 23.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game, while playing almost 36 minutes per night. He was walking. I think he got an X-ray.

The Spurs lost their longtime starting point guard Tony Parker to a leg injury in game two and started rookie Dejounte Murray in games three and four of the best-of-seven series. The miscue helped contribute to the Spurs failing to take a shot at the close of regulation, forcing overtime. "We were able to keep moving the ball, or keep moving our people and keep driving until we found the easier shot and it worked".

The big question now heading to game six is Leonard's status.

The Rockets looked exhausted late in the game. They may be right.

Guard Danny Green was the hero for the home team in overtime. James Harden was 0-for-3 in overtime.

These teams matched the number one defense in the National Basketball Association, the Spurs, against the number one scoring offense of the Rockets.

The Spurs bounced back fine after getting clobbered in the opener and will try to do so again following Houston's 125-104 victory on Sunday. Both teams are 8-0 thus far.

San Antonio's All-Star said after the game that it was "a little sore" and he was limping. He also had 9 turnovers. The last time the Rockets won a series after being tied 2-2 was in the 1995 Western Conference finals when they beat the Spurs.

Popovich defeated D'Antoni in the 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2013, whether it was in the conference finals or first round.

The Rockets are not going to stray from their game plan. "They are going to play with that lineup a lot anyway". Houston is going to push the pace as fast as they can push it.

Leonard is among the NBA's leading MVP candidates after averaging a career-high 25.5 points with 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, while playing elite defense.

After recording just four fast-break points in Game 3, the Rockets managed 13 in the first quarter alone in Game 4.

A 3-pointer would have forced the game into double overtime, but in came Manu!

My postseason record: 15-5 (+$860).
