He is a professional basketball player, a star for the Boston Celtics, but in the two weeks since his sister Chyna was killed in a auto accident in Washington state, he has become much more than that.

After attending his sister's funeral yesterday and returning to Boston only six hours before shoot around, Isaiah Thomas had a huge game.

Al Horford had a huge impact on the game scoring 21 points, collecting 10 rebounds and dishing out nine assists in a near triple-double for the Celtics big man.

The Boston Celtics star had a front tooth knocked out of his mouth Sunday night, during the opening game of the team's second-round playoff matchup against the Washington Wizards.

The Boston Celtics got hit with a devastating emotional blow just as the playoffs were about to start.

As the start of the game showed, Morris is a game-changer in this series because he makes the Celtics pay when they go small.

A win is a win is a win, especially in a seven-game playoff series and Boston has spent all season scheming around the defensive shortcomings of Thomas. The favorite is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the home team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings. "I've always had teammates that I've always clowned them about the tooth being out and now I'm one of them". However, the Wizards weren't that far off in Game 1 as they still had a chance to win the game despite that horrendous third quarter where they were outscored by 36-16.

Boston's lineup decision could ultimately hinge on the availability of Wizards forward Markieff Morris, who remained adamant Monday that he would play in Tuesday's Game 2 despite spraining his ankle.

After the game Wizards coach Scott Brooks said he did not have an update on Morris' status but that they would see how he was feeling on Monday. We've always played with our backs against the wall. "I think sometimes we get too lax, and we stop being aggressive". Boston has played 88 other games between the regular season and the playoffs and in just three of those had they made a higher percentage of their 3s. Losing the first or even both of the first two games would be tough against a very talented Wizards team. His best and most efficient game came two nights earlier.

"I'm not sure", Morris said of the second-quarter incident Sunday vs. the Boston Celtics.

The former All Black was back to his playmaking best to the dismay of Stade Francais.

"He stepped right under my foot", Morris said. And even with that adversity he still went out and dropped 33 points and 9 assists. "We were down 12-0 to open a game, and I remember him saying in the huddle 'I don't know if our plan of letting them score at will is working out'".

He averaged 23.0 points (on 43.0 percent shooting), 4.3 boards and 5.7 assists in that series. The Celtics' stellar passing makes this a recipe for defensive disaster. They were down 16 when Thomas went to the bench with 1:55 left in the first.

Sticking with the theme of bigs who can stretch the floor here, Kelly Olynyk was a problem for the Wizards in Game 1 and that might not change in Game 2.
