Rockets overcome Westbrook's 51, take 2-0 lead over Thunder

Houston Rockets center Nene shoots in front of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Victor Oladipo in the first quarter of Game 4 of a first-round NBA basketball playoff series in Oklahoma City Sunday

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has been fined $15,000 for using inappropriate language during a postgame interview, the National Basketball Association announced Friday. According to the computer, Westbrook is more valuable to his team than Harden, even if Oklahoma City is looking at long odds of advancing. If the Houston Rockets win today, the first round will be all but over for Russell Westbrook and friends. It was the sixth career playoff triple-double for Westbrook, who had an NBA-record 42 in the regular season. "Russell Westbrook had a 50 point triple double tonight.... clearly displaying how overrated the 50 point triple double can be". This time, shots and contributions were distributed more evenly throughout the game.

Andre Roberson added a tip-in layup for the Thunder before two free throws by Westbrook tied it at 104-104 with about three minutes left.

"I don't give a [expletive] about the line", Westbrook responded.

After game one, Millsap made a point of calling out what he considered overly aggressive play from the Wizards - "They were playing MMA", he said. "I didn't try to overthink it".

It wasn't ideal. His second missed free throw of the closing seconds kept the door open for the Rockets, whose star James Harden was off-target with a three-pointer at the buzzer.

"Let's be honest", said Donovan. So I was ready for that shot. Down the stretch, Russ missed 14 shots on the way to a 4-18 fourth quarter and there were many moments that he basically forgot about his teammates.

"We got to come out desperate, that's all that is", James Harden said before Saturday's practice. It's a little bit of a recurring theme we have.

As for Harden, he took only four shots in the final quarter, scoring seven points. "He played an exceptional game".

Houston closed the gap throughout the final period.

Westbrook missed two of his four free throws at the charity stripe, but the Thunder survived as Harden came up short on a 25-foot pull-up three to win the game. Here's a nice assist on the fast break after a Harden turnover, finding Victor Oladipo for the alley-oop. He had one assist the rest of the game.

The general hatred between both teams was not enough to fuel Oklahoma City to the win as they fell apart in the fourth quarter only scoring thirteen points to Houston's twenty-nine.

The Houston Rockets can all but end this series by winning here and taking a big 3-0 lead. Gibson was called for a technical foul with 1:22 left in the first half. Christon played almost 14 minutes in the opener and 6:38 in Game 2.

Westbrook finished with 51 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists, but no other OKC players scored more than 12 points.

Westbrook responded with his first three-point attempt of the game. In that game, his stats were 51 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists. "Whatever these guys do collectively as a group, it doesn't surprise me". "I've just gotta do a better job of making decisions whether I'm shooting or not". Game 4 of the Western Conference clash is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
