US Rejects Chinese Plan For Minimize Tension In Korean Peninsula

Pyongyang blasted at least four missiles toward Japan on Monday, three of which splashed down in waters within Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone.

DPRK stands for Democratic Republic of Korea, the official name for North Korea. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un issued a stark warning to the USA and South Korea, promising to unleash a "nuclear tipped missile" to "demolish" any country who attacks the secretive kingdom.
The planned installation of the USA anti-missile defense system has led to a diplomatic standoff between China and South Korea.
"This is someone who's trying to get attention", she said, flanked by her South Korean and Japanese counterparts, Cho Tae-yul and Koro Bessho, respectively. "To behave as if all this is purely a bilateral affair of the two Korean states is highly irresponsible", the senator said.

Of course, the administration's chances of success in dealing with the North Korean issue would be increased if President Trump filled several empty senior administration positions dealing with Asia, including but not limited to: assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific affairs, ambassador to South Korea and ambassador to Japan.
