LG G6 Launched at MWC 2017; Know the Specs & Features

The Mobile World Congress has begun at Barcelona and so have the new smartphone launches. The LG G5 was near-perfect, but will its non-modular successor achieve the same level of success?

We'd need more time to really test out its user interface, but at first glance it is slick and runs smoothly thanks to the powerful Snapdragon 831. You can also capture videos of up to 4K with the main shooter, but this is not true for the front-facing 5MP shooter, which has an aperture of f/2.2 and a wide-angle view of 100 degrees.

According to the company, the LG G6 is most compact smartphone featuring a 5.7-inch display.

Other new features include the ability to make collage of photos taken from the phone and set it up as your lock screen wallpaper, and an updated calendar app that takes advantage of the 18:9 display. The smartphone measures 148.9 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 163 grams.

In addition to that, LG G6 is said to be waterproof, which LG has now confirmed in new teasers for the device.

The LG G6 releases into the markets with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The specs of the LG V30 includes sporting a Snapdragon 835 processor, which is now hogged by Samsung for its Galaxy S8. It also covers HDR10, in case you were wondering. "LG will continue to lead smartphone innovation with a focus on convenience and reliability in order to exceed consumer expectations". This year, LG is using a 3,300 mAh battery. Also with a built-in battery they could craft this elegant body. However, that feature is not a part of the G6, as the battery is non-removable.

The LG G6 may no longer be the flagship phone from LG's Android smartphone line-up, but it is certainly dressed up to mean business. The QHD+ FullVision display has significantly rounded edges that LG told us helps to structurally support the display from fall damage.

Considering that the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL are far from ideal, the LG G6 is the best alternative in the market for smartphone users looking to sample the search giant's most advanced voice assistant to date without spending too much. Dolby Vision, the most advanced technology of the three, can adjust colors while a video is playing without you being any the wiser. The LG UX has been named "Fullscreen UX". You get either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory with support for memory expansion up to 2TB. It is also the first non-Pixel smartphone to come pre-loaded with Google Assistant. It has been heavily rumored for months, and is now officially true.

The OS might not appeal to those who prefer stock Operating Systems, as everything here feels different. For the unsupported content, LG will add in a "zoom mode". Despite the fact that this phone has the large screen yet it is easy to hold. The device comes loaded with a dual-camera setup at the back which consists of a 13-megapixel wide angle lens with aperture f/2.4 and 125-degree view and a 13-megapixel standard camera with f/1.8 and standard optical Image stabilisation (OIS). The top half houses the earpiece and selfie camera module, whereas the bottom half has a very small chin.
