Despite Westbrook's monster game, the record wound up being shattered by New Orleans' Anthony Davis who had 52 points which broke Wilt Chamberlain's All-Star game record of 42 points set in 1962. Davis was named a starter on January 20, 2017. A showcase of the very best of the high volume of talent in the National Basketball Association.

But now, here we are with the Warriors being represented in the All-Star Game for the fifth consecutive year (shout out to David Lee) with four All-Stars with the addition of perennial All-Star Kevin Durant this past offseason. Team World leaped out to a 77-66 halftime lead. Kevin Durant dished out a no-look, alley-oop pass to Russell Westbrook.

Seemingly the only thing talked about as much this weekend as the Knicks and their relationship issues was how Durant and Westbrook would coexist as teammates again.

If Westbrook and Durant can find peace, maybe there's hope for Anthony and Phil Jackson, and Charles Oakley and James Dolan. West center DeAndre Jordan rose from the bench to yell "No, no, no" back in their direction. Stephen Curry added 21 points for the West - where a subplot emerged as DeMarcus Cousins played only two minutes, prompting some speculation that a trade sending him out of Sacramento might be looming. The high-scoring game featured countless scoring records and incredible feats which would be unfathomable in a regular-season game.

And the combined 189 points (West 97, East 92) for the half is also a record. He didn't say this next part, exactly, but he and the Cavs are heading to the playoffs, as are the four Warriors who played in the All-Star game.

"I just blow dry and it put some product in it ... that's about it". Players on the East roster will receive $25,000 apiece.

First-time All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks led the East with 30 points, several of which came from rim-rattling dunks.

Murray, a Canadian and Denver Nuggets rookie, went 9 of 14 on 3-pointers and was voted the game's MVP.

LeBron James finished with 23 points.

Fans started to exit the Smoothie King center late in the fourth quarter. "But they're a little matador in terms of the layups that they let go, a few guys standing at halfcourt".

Westbrook won the game's MVP award in 2015 in NY and a year ago in Toronto.
