Given RAM is currently trading at a particularly high rate right now, this may drive up the iPhone 8's price. Reports are claiming that the new iPhone 8 will introduce awesome specs and features ever in the iPhone history.Apple seems to exhibit for the first time a curved, edge-to-edge OLED display contained in the iPhone 8. This device, which might be called iPhone X or iPhone 8, is expected to pack completely new hardware and software features as well. The wireless charging feature that was said to be coming to the iPhone would allow the smartphone to charge as long as it is within 15 feet from a transmitter, eliminating the need for the iPhone to be placed on a charging mat.
Several sources tell Fast Company that Apple has been tying up much of the available OLED display manufacturing capacity in the marketplace at the expense of smaller phone makers. This particular feature is more expensive in comparison to other traditional LED displays.
A fresh report out of KGI (via MacRumors) gives further indication that Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 lineup for 2017 will include wireless charging.
Numerous rumors in Fast Company's report have already popped up in some form or another.
The third model may have an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) screen, as opposed to the LCD screens on current iPhones. And now, Samsung's OLED screens are the only ones which meet Cupertino's quality standards, thus, it is hogging up on as much of them as possible.
Apple is also believed to be considering utilising Lumentum's 3D-sensing technology in the iPhone 8, and the device may be called the iPhone X in honour of the original iPhone's 10th anniversary. A bigger battery is also expected, but Fast Company says the exact size remains unclear. It may unlock with Touch ID directly on the display or face recognition software that triggers when users look at it. The company might move away from using aluminum and use glass so that the device would fit with OLED.
A more water-resistant iPhone 8 is also expected which can be held at 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
More features, higher price: iPhone 8 over $1,000?
