Anfield will be a 'scary' place, says Wijnaldum

Raheem Sterling and Pep Guardiola

Liverpool struck from their first incursion into City territory, Adam Lallana crossing from the left and Wijnaldum meeting the ball with a thumping header that ripped past Claudio Bravo. Jurgen Klopp's newly invigorated squad is one point ahead of City, and the two are six and seven points behind league leaders Chelsea, respectively. "It depends a lot on the players you have".

However, Liverpool's attack is far more hard to defend than the other teams on that list because it's tougher to predict the provider or the scorer. They attack wide sometimes with [Nathaniel] Clyne and [James] Milner but they especially like to attack from inside, through the middle.

"Somewhere with good weather, Argentina is good at the moment I think". Both managers will go for the kill and will surely make for an interesting game. But at the same time pointed out that this is much different to the brand of football he plays, which is referred to as Tiki-Taka.

"When he speaks about his football being heavy metal, I understand completely, it is so aggressive". It is so aggressive.

"He had a nice style with Barcelona and was really good with Bayern and now he is at City and he is there to be successful and not to show how good he is".

"I'm not sure if he watched a lot of games in the last few weeks in other stadiums of opponents - that is a first sign it is a special game and we are already looking forward to it".

Guardiola will renew a rivalry with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp that they began in Germany and he admires the former Borussia Dortmund coach for his use of a high-paced pressing game. "I know what we have to do to win the next game but not to get Chelsea". It was something that he managed to learn from and adjust to soon after, though. "[Tonight] we got the three points and I really though we deserved it, and that's the only thing that's really important".

This was a contender for Liverpool's best performance under Juergen Klopp.

The Tottenham match is a potential stopping point for Chelsea's winning run, which stands at 12 matches and counting, but by then it could have stretched to 13 with a home victory over Stoke on Saturday and their lead at the top might have grown further too.

City, meanwhile, would leapfrog the Reds into second with a win here as they look to make it four victories on the bounce.

City, on the other hand, will be boosted by the return of Sergio Aguero, who has served his four-game ban for violent conduct during their loss to Chelsea, and Fernandinho is likely to partner in-form Yaya Toure at the heart of the midfield.
