Howard wins player of week award

Cutler, Howard lead Bears to 20-10 win over Vikings

I thought everyone was focused. Coupled with a running game and a defense that played at a higher level than we've seen from them. "We wish him nothing but the best moving forward in whatever endeavors he chooses". What was most impressive was how they hunkered down in the red zone. And anyway, the sheer cost of Cutler will probably make a return untenable. Howard surpassed that total on his second carry alone, a season-long 69-yard burst that sparked the Bears' first scoring drive. That figure jumped to 2.52 seconds against the Eagles, and the Bears were able to take away some of Bradford's first reads by keeping players in zone coverage while they got to the quarterback with a standard rush. Surprisingly enough though, Chicago is 1-0 against Minnesota in 2016. The Bears harassed Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford all night, sacking him five times, with nine additional quarterback hits, and multiple batted passes. The offensive line has had huge problems.

"Well, it's hard right now".

"People can say what they want about us, but once we fix it, we're going to be fine", tackle T.J.

"So I don't know if "hopeful" is the right word", he added.

NOTES: Vikings PR Marcus Sherels (wrist injury) did not play Monday night. The pressure led to a hurried throw that Matt Asiata dropped and the sack led to a punt early in the fourth quarter from midfield, despite the Vikings trailing 20-3.

After missing the last five games with a thumb injury, the Bears quarterback returned to action and finished the game with 252 passing yards and a passer rating of 100.5 against the No. 1 defense in the National Football League coming in. That included 158 yards rushing. This stretch also includes two games against.500 teams in Tennessee and Detroit and the lowly San Francisco 49ers, owners of the NFL's second-worst record at 1-6.

The Vikings, whose offense went almost 20 minutes of action without producing a first down, finally caught the break they needed on a freakish third-down play where Bradford was hit as he threw, causing him to throw a backward pass. "They did a good job taking it away".

To round out the NFC North, the Packers are at No. 6, the Lions are at No. 11, while the Bears are up to 29. "It is what it is". "You just have to play each game the same".

Cutler recently missed five straight games with a sprained thumb. Coach Mike Zimmer offered scant insight about his team's performance in a terse postgame news conference, keeping his comments to a mere three minutes, but he credited Cutler for his play.

Where do the Vikings go from here?

Then, on Monday, as the focal point within an offensive gameplan created to attack the Vikings on the ground, Howard turned in a career day. Yet. cap- and draft capital-constrained Minnesota likely can't afford to seek upgrades ahead of tomorrow's trade deadline over Long and Clemmings. They overcame the loss of their starting quarterback one week before the season; future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson in Week Three; and both starting tackles en route to a 5-0 start.

The team has no offensive line and the defense even showed signs of weakness in Monday night's loss to the Bears. "So we wanted to come out with the same mindset, run the ball and keep us out of third-and-long".
