Thunder announce extensions for Oladipo, Adams

Steven Adams has agreed to a reported $140 million four-year contract extension to remain a centrepiece of the Oklahoma

While the Thunder organization was busy on Monday finalizing contract extensions for both center Steven Adams and guard Victor Oladipo, there was one eligible player who didn't ink a deal.

The contract is reportedly worth US$102 million (NZ$142 million) over four years with the team. That means all of the attention of opposing teams will be focused on him when they play the Thunder. On the other end, Adams is one of the best in the league at finishing out of pick-and-roll situations.

Oladipo is in the third year of his rookie contract.

"I just like it here so much", Adams said when pressed on why he re-signed with the Thunder.

Three games into the National Basketball Association season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have extended the contract of guard Victor Oladipo for four years and $84 million, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Adams contributed 14 points, a game-high 12 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost two superstars in a matter of five years.

During the Thunder's run to the 2016 Conference Finals, he recorded six double-doubles and averaged 10.1 points and 9.5 rebounds in 22 post-season games.

Roberson has emerged over the past year as a versatile defensive player for the Thunder. He's OKC's second-best player, a great defender, a tenacious rebounder, a reliable finisher in pick and roll and has touch and feel around the rim. Schroder is a starter for the first time in his career, and the Hawks believe it's wise to build with him at point guard for the future.

Oladipo came to the Thunder in the trade that sent Serge Ibaka to Orlando. Adding the hypothetical maximum-type player to a core of Adams, Oladipo and Westbrook immediately makes them a contender.
