Game of Thrones posters for season six tease a dead Jon Snow

Sansa Stark surprised by Miranda Game of Thrones Helen Sloan HBO

Sticking to their theme of the Hall of Faces, HBO has released 16 new Game of Thrones character posters featuring both the living and the dead from the entire series.

Also, as in the teaser trailer, the faces of these characters appear in what looks to be the Hall of Faces, the chamber where the skinned visages of the fallen rest. At the end of the fifth season, Jon Snow would have died, however, a GOT poster was recently released with Harington's face in it, increasing the speculation that Jon Snow may have survived. Whether or not he is coming back to the show (he is), this is a neat way for HBO and Game of Thrones to continue to use Kit Harington's face in their marketing campaigns. In all, the posters give a sneak-peek of such characters as Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen).

Game of Thrones is having a grand old time torturing fans with the "is Jon Snow really dead?" question.

Theories and debate have surrounded Snow's death with fans and websites arguing that he will return and the producers of the series standing firm that he is, in fact, dead.

New images will be arrive throughout the day on the "Game of Thrones" Twitter account, but you can see the posters the posters released so far below.

One of the biggest successes of American television, Game of Thrones will return for its sixth season, again with 10 episodes.
